Billie Campbell -Emlenton, Pennsylvania

It all started with a plastic pony given as a gift at age three/four - or perhaps it was already hard wired in?  Like most horse crazed kids I began drawing and turning anything with four legs into a pony. (Our poor old black Lab...)  Of course, every moment not spent with the two ponies given to me by my Grandfather a year later - you would find me curled up....drawing, finger painting, cutting pictures from books and mags, sculpting play-dough.....

I found a passion for collecting model horses in the mid 80's. The real evil didn't start until the mid 90's when I discovered live model horse showing!

I started attending live model horse shows and once I saw all the amazing sculptures... customizing... painting... I began to think about dusting off the old paints and brushes.

I painted my first appaloosa - I believe- in 2004. ? I took him to a show and a good friend requested that I paint an appaloosa for her as well. (Boy did it snow ball from there!) Once I delivered her mule, she was so thrilled she sent pictures of the finished piece ahead to the castor. The next day DaBar contacted me to be their prototype painter.  I was floored and have been since;)

Hopefully ....I can get my hands on a live appaloosa for research/study... Ya, okay... so I just really want one out in the field...
